Life Insurance & Retirement
BlackFire's licensed specialists compare life insurance and retirement-income options across multiple carriers, so your plan is built around you, not a single product.
Needs change across a working life. A good plan changes with them.
01 · Early and mid career
Replace your income if something happens to you, protect your family's plans, and consider living benefits that may help if you face a serious illness.
02 · Building years
Build tax-advantaged savings and cash value, and give compounding time to work in your favor.
03 · Approaching and in retirement
Guard retirement assets from market loss and create income you cannot outlive, subject to contract terms.
Product guarantees depend on the claims-paying ability of the issuing insurer. Features, riders and availability vary by product and state.
Five tools, used alone or together, chosen for your goals rather than a carrier's.
Permanent death benefit and cash value, with interest credited based on an index and protected from negative index performance. Policy fees and charges apply and can reduce cash value.
An option to accelerate part of the death benefit if you are diagnosed with a qualifying terminal, chronic or critical illness, including heart attack, stroke or cancer, subject to policy terms.
Principal protection against market loss, index-linked interest and optional lifetime income, subject to contract terms and surrender schedules.
Move retirement savings into a protected income strategy. We review fees, tax treatment and the benefits of your existing plan before any move.
Life insurance for children and grandchildren, tax-efficient legacy planning and strategies that can help fund education.
Where you hold money can matter as much as how much you save.
Checking, savings and brokerage accounts. You generally pay tax on earnings as they arise, and money stays easy to reach.
Traditional 401(k)s, IRAs and annuities. Tax is generally postponed until you withdraw, when it is usually owed as income.
Roth accounts and properly structured cash value life insurance. Qualified distributions and policy loans may receive favorable tax treatment; life insurance treatment is policy-dependent and depends on how the policy is used.
General information only, not tax advice. Tax treatment depends on your circumstances and current law; consult a tax professional.

Indexed universal life (IUL) is permanent life insurance with a death benefit and a cash value account. Interest credited to the cash value is linked to the performance of a market index, with a floor that protects credited interest from negative index performance. Policy fees and charges still apply and can reduce cash value, and crediting caps and participation rates are set by the issuing insurer.
Living benefits are policy features or riders that may let you accelerate part of your death benefit while you are alive if you are diagnosed with a qualifying terminal, chronic or critical illness, such as a heart attack, stroke or cancer. Eligibility, amounts and conditions depend on the policy terms, and any amount accelerated reduces the death benefit.
A fixed index annuity is an insurance contract, not a direct investment in the market. Interest is credited based on the performance of an index, subject to caps, participation rates or spreads, and the contract protects your principal from market loss on its index strategies. A stock market investment can rise or fall with no floor.
On its index strategies, a fixed index annuity protects principal from market loss. You can still lose money through surrender charges if you withdraw more than the contract allows during the surrender period, through fees for optional riders, and through tax penalties on early withdrawals. All guarantees rely on the claims-paying ability of the issuing insurer.
There is no fee for the checkup and no obligation to buy anything. If you choose to place coverage, the issuing insurer pays the agency a commission.
Yes. Many insurers offer life insurance for children and grandchildren, either as a standalone policy or as a rider on a parent's policy. Some permanent policies also build cash value over time. Availability and terms vary by insurer and state.
Because we are independent, we can compare options across carriers again whenever your needs change. Replacing an existing policy or annuity is not always in your interest: it may require new underwriting, restart surrender periods, add new charges or give up existing benefits. We review those trade-offs with you before any change.

Tell us a little about what you want to protect or plan for. A licensed specialist will compare options across multiple carriers with you, with no fee and no obligation.
Life insurance and annuity products are underwritten by the issuing insurers. Guarantees are backed by the claims-paying ability of the issuing insurer. Illustrations are not guarantees. Policy loans and withdrawals reduce death benefit and cash value, and annuities can carry surrender charges. BlackFire does not provide tax or legal advice.
